Developing Writing Skill of the Eighth-Grade Students through the Use of Genre Based Approach

Background: The objective of writing instruction is to equip students with the ability proficiently comprehend and produce various types texts, such as monologues, paragraphs, or essays. So, finding applying appropriate teaching methods teach skills necessary. Methods: subjects this research were at grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Bambalamotu that consisted 22 students. This was Classroom Action Research (CAR) covering plan, action, observation, reflection. carried out in two cycles. first meeting focused on explanation materials through syntax Genre-Based Approach; 1. BKOF (Building Knowledge Field), 2. MCOT (Modeling Construction Text), 3. JCOT (Join construction Text) 4. ICOT (Independent Text). And second evaluation. Results: data obtained from field notes, test. In initial test cycle 1, it evident did not meet success standards they struggled write descriptive paragraphs. However, results 2 revealed introduction GBA (Guided-By-Approach) effectively enhanced students' abilities. By following stages outlined GBA, challenges faced by can be reduced. Conclusion: three key elements namely collaboration, joint construction, independent contribute potential for improvement skills.
